I hope you
all had a great summer! We surely did,
and even accomplished our first year of organic gardening and bird
watching. With the holidays just around the corner, I wanted to mention that this is a great time for recruiting. Sometimes members tell me that they don’t know how to recruit new members, or just aren’t good at it. But like Scotty once said, that’s just over thinking the plumbing. The fact is, recruiting isn’t what most people think—in fact, when it’s done right it’s completely effortless. Let me explain. As I’ve often said, it’s not flyers, drives, or campaigns that recruit members to Starbase Karma—it’s people. Specifically, people having fun! Laughter and creativity are contagious, and with all the wonderful events Away Team Dave has planned for us through the end of the year, all you need to do to help recruit new members is tell a friend or two which of the Away Team missions you’ll be attending an invite them along. Really -- that’s it! Because when they see our crazy crew laughing and acting silly they’ll want to come along every time, too. Think about it: what got you to join? I promise you it wasn’t a shiny flyer or sales pitch— it was the fun you had with us. That’s really all there is to it! BUT, just to give all of you a little boost, here’s what I’m going to do—during the months of October, November, and December, SBK will offer free membership for the first 90 days to any new member coming aboard…and half price memberships to anyone wanting to sign back on board.
With an
offer like that, how can you refuse? (cue

friends. Show them who we are and how
much fun we have together. All you have
