Base Commander’s Log—March 08
Greetings, Crew!
I’m just back from the latest SBK Reel Read program
on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Can you believe, I’d never read it?
What an awesome story! And so this month instead of making you read a lot
of my mundane—compared to Bradbury’s—words, I’m going to ask you to write
to me with your answer to this:
If you could only memorize one book in your life, and your memory would
then be the only source of that book until you died--what book would you
be?
(And let's assume your memory is perfect until you die and YES you can
only choose to be one book.)
Your answers to this question will be in the next YN! Have fun!
Love ya!

MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY KARMA
MEETING:
The meeting opened at 7:36PM at the Mary Ann Mongan
library in Covington, Kentucky.
It was announced that Robin Fenner was named Captain of the USS Camelot in
Dayton, OH. Congratulations, Robin! Robin would like to to get involved
with Starbase Karma in the diplomatic missions along with the Browncoats,
the IKV Bortas, and the USS Aquila.
Starbase Indy will not be returning this year, but VULKON will take that
weekend.
The Starbase Karma Google Adwords account is ready to go on-line. The
admiral suggested we add the current hot series to the account as well as
to our flyer.
The Reel Read this quarter is FAHRENHEIT 451.
Join the discussion.
The next away team will visit Lexington, Kentucky on March
9 for a seminar on disaster preparedness. We will also attend Millenicon
on March 14, 15, and 16.
Jan looked into getting a banner for our convention table and showed us
options from the company "Fast Signs." There was a brief discussion on how
to display the banner and it was decided to go with a design that would
allow for several options. That is, to either drape the table or hang from
a stand of some type.
It was decided that meetings will move between Covington, KY and a bit
closer to Lexington, KY. The next meeting will be on Thursday, March 13 at
the Mary Ann Mongan Library in COVINGTON.
